Easter 2012

The Easter festivities were super fun at our house, but somehow hardly any pictures were taken... hmmmm...

Egg decorating is always a favorite (and I appreciate when no sweets are involved in the fun)

I don't know why we can't get a picture with all the kids looking at the camera, it's gotta be some kind of kid conspiracy...Hyrum and Bry look GREAT in this one...

And... DD, Ivy, and Bry look great in this one.

Here's DD on Easter morning asking Daddy to open her egg- who cares about the egg hunt when you can sit and watch everyone do all the work while munching on treats?

Here's DD again with a full mouth of candy, obviously ready for more.

Here's our very sad and posed pictures of Ivy and Hyrum "reaching" for eggs.

You can see their impatience as they anticipate the candy haul.
And here's DD after her sweets were gone... let me tell you how much I love that sticky stuff...

We have a lovely meadow in an island dividing a street nearby and shot some pics of the kiddos:

Every time we get the camera out DD turns into a grump.

This is on a different day, but same location:

Blooms

In my garden there is a large place for sentiment.
My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams.
The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful.
~Abram L. Urban

I love to garden- I don't know why.  All the dirt and compost and seeds that my parents and grandparents toiled over must have made it into my genes.  I actually complain to Bryan frequently that it's too small and it's not enough work- yep, the words "not enough work" actually escaped my lips.  Gardening just doesn't feel like work.

Here's our beautiful little crochus blooms waiting to delight us as we go about our busy day:

It's amazing how a tiny thing like a flower can lift my spirits so high.

Have a Little Faith

Ivy and I were outside when I discovered these little surprises in the garden:

I was so elated I started jumping up and down- laughing and clapping.

I exclaimed, "Ivy, do you know what this means?  SPRING IS COMING!"

She responded, "REALLY?  That's so exciting mom!"

Then we proceeded to shamelessly prance around the yard performing our "crocus-bulbs-are-emerging-so-spring-is-on-it's-way" dance.

Here's an Ivy reenactment:

Yep, we're done with winter.
