Self Expression

Ivy has decided mommy isn't an expert in fashion anymore.  I can no longer convince, cajole, or sweet-talk her into any outfits of my choice.  I've decided to give her more freedom to choose what she wants to wear (unless it's inappropriate for the weather).  Some days she is looks perfectly put-together. Other days I wish I could glue a sign on her forehead citing: I DRESSED MYSELF TODAY!  If I force her to wear what I want or constantly critique her appearance I figure I'll just inhibit her confidence, independence, and creativity.  So bring on the clashing colors and patterns-  I'm raising a strong woman here!  Who's to say I know anything about style anyway...

She chose to accessorize with stickers today

I think every little girl goes through this. For a compromise, I started only buying denim or khaki bottoms (skirts, pants, shorts, capris)for Megan. They go with pretty much any shirt, so she has the freedom to choose her outfits, and I know that she'll always look reasonably pulled together. :D

ask my mom how i tried to wear the exact same shirt for weeks at a time at that age... so it could be worse. At least she wears clean clothes :)

Aw, thats a great video! I can't get Camri to do anything once the camera is out. I thought the stickers were really cute, and so did Camri. That day, after school, she put stickers all over her shirt too. :) Ivy is such a doll. You must let us steal her for a play date after school again soon.

Ha ha ha. Ivy's got your spunk you know...I'm not surprised. And it seems like Hyrum has Bryan's patient temperment. You have the cutest little family:) Sorry to have missed you when you were in UT.
